portfolio: social studies

our first project of the year was a columbian exchange, I didn't finish because I barely new what was happening.

what I meant by barely knowing what was happening is was that at the beginning of the year I didn't now my full potentiel in learning.

my most recent social studies project is our piktochart. it is a picture of my topic witch is self driving cars and here it is

I think this was the most fun project social studies

talk about how I got better at finding information

portfolio:science

in the middle of the year we had a biome project science fair. in this science fair we had to make a miniature biome and how we can save it, my partners were Malak and Umayta. our first try of making it we completely failed and we had to restart our whole thing. some really good things that happened that unit was that I learned I would say to much about the rainforest and the orangutan and tiger. this project also made me a better work parter and showed me what 3 fifth graders can do.
the fair itself as much longer that I thought it would be. and there was also more people that I expected there would be.
the thing we did a couple of months after we had a much shorter thing called the stream table erosion experiment, it was were there was a rectangular container filled with a sand and clay mixture, then we took all of it to one side and but a little bit water in it and saw what happened. one of our field trips this year was to the wadi degla. so what we learned from the steam table experiment was over time water can create cuts these awesome things. a long tome ago this wadi was filled to the top with water. i think that science was one of my favorite subjects of the whole year, almost every day we had fin projects to do.

portfolio:math

Math was really challenging for me at the beginning of the year, but with a little practice with my dad, I became way better and now math is on of my favorite subjects of the day.
I will show you some of my latest wok in my latest eureka math problem solving math book.
again like I said at the beginning of the year my math skill was really bad, and I was beginning to get really worried and angry, now I think my math skill is quite good.

talk about tests

portfolio:writing

at the beginning of the year when we had our on demands, every one thought that we did are best and it was our best, but when we got them back at the end of the year we all were laughing hard. this proves that in writing I have improved in our writing. at the moment we are doing a journalism unit witch helps us with our research skills because we usually only get 15 minutes to research and then 20 minutes to write, and we have to write at least 2 pages.
I think that my writing skill isn't the best, and I could really improve just if I pushed myself more.

portfolio: reading

This year in reading I have to edmit that I do not like reading, but  I think that I am starting to open up I really like reading these stranger things books I go for my birthday.
one of my favorite jots this year was: someone who must know a lot about the 80s is my mom, is must have been way more calm back then, there were also no ipads and all other gadgets. kids would usually play outside all day and come back for dinner.
my favorite book this year was "the City of Ember" it was about a city under ground and the two main characters (I forgot there names) thought that there was life and a whole world above them
and then they were trying to find clues on how to get out of Ember. This was my favorite book because there was so much fun and adventure to the plot of the story and the story in general.
If I had to get into a characters shoes it would defenetly be jaypaw from one of the books Warriors.
I would also have a hard time fitting in and getting a clan job if I were blind.

one thing was entertainment and this is things that entertain us every day like tvs and apps for phones and more. a twelve year old kid made 2 apps and is working on more. this proves that anyone can do these thing, it wont be easy but you can do it!
the second one is I found was that people are trying to find a way that you can teleport food to stop starvation. they planning on doing this to countrys that need lots of food.

The topic that apeals to me the most was the transportation section because transportation is very important to mankind. with all the cars that humans drive every day lots of gases spread and we ruin the enviorment and the earth. we should also use self driving cars 1 because we will not waste as much space because if they can self drive we wont need lanes and traffic light all of these things the car would now via sencors.

Water erosion experiment

the first water erosion experiment was the river. the whole in the bottom of the container was really small so not that much water came through so it would not over flow. and the second experiment
the whole at the bottom was a little bigger and then more water came out.

vr project

Doing the vr expirement was lots of fun. every now and then I felt as if I acually were there. and when that happend I could almost feel the breeze. I saw the grand canyon and Victoria falls or the devils pool. I think that the grand canyon which I think was filled with water. and I don't know what happened to the falls, maybe erosion.

Wadi Degla

What did we do
we went t the wadi degla

When did it happen?
monday march 19 2018

Where did it happen?
in the wadi degla

Who went?
the fifth grade scientists

Were there any special guests?
Dr Bill the geologist

How did we get there? (Not just in the bus)
we walked a long path to get there

What did we do there?
we saw the wadi and we also saw lime stone and sand.

What did we learn?
we learned about erosion and weathering and the animals that liked there a long time ago

How did we learn?
Dr.Bill told us

Why did we go?

because we had a unit in science

What do you want to learn now?
nothing
What was the best part?

nothing
What would you change for next time and why?

put on sunscreen because I got burned

EQs

why does the earths surface look the way it does?

I personally think it is because of our atmosphere and erosion.

how does the earth change over time?
because of erosion and global warming.

science reflection

hello, I am doctor, just doctor and I am going to tell some things about my self. first my favorite topic in science is biology, because I really enjoy learning about the human body especially cells. my favorite thing that I have done this year is the variables unit especially the ramp with a car and measure how far the car went. something that I would love to learn and have is a biology unit because I really want to learn about it. if I were to grow up and become a scientist myself I would really like to become a chemist because I want to teach and do other chemistry things with other people. what males me a strong scientist is that I can collaborate with with other people. something that I need to work on is that I need to work harder and do more work. I think science is important because I personally think that everyone needs to learn about it. I really enjoy researching because I get to learn new things I didn't know before.

Cells are Important

what I think I did well was the information that I put in my book but I think that if I could have done more writing.
